How about THIS? Why would one need to fatally shoot a person just because of the danger of holding a knife? I would have wondered about such response to danger in any place and for any person let alone where you can buy guns and even carry them with you like here and for a person who has chosen to work as cop. So there is such easy possibility for you to approach a car to ask for the license and registration of the driver but instead get shot and this is your response to the danger of a knife even when the holder is not contact close? Only in the imagination of people here that knives are as dangerous as guns like this. They are not even close. Any thing that can be thrown to cause injury is comparable to a knife. In addition to all that, we also have here that those officers came because of this danger, and therefore one expects them to be prepared for the suitable response at least at the level of who would shoot and where to target.
